Love the god awful date stories. Worst of my life went to a random girls apartment. Show up she has 2 roommates they let me know the other girl is severely autistic which has not been disclosed and as a guy on the spectrum I have to try and gauge how far on the spectrum we are talking because I'm 18 and insanely stupid. Start talking begin getting dirty looks from roommates because they think I'm a pyscho trying to take care of a disabled girl when I'm just socially dumb trying to figure out dating and shit. Say a joke that goes miserably have no idea how to politely leave end up going to my car and grabbing booze and end up watching last man on earth and other garbage sitcoms for 3 hours and then dip and for 3 weeks just tried to process what is wrong with my stupid brain.

Unfortunately, FUBAR sucks. It makes Tulsa King look like prestige entertainment.

I know you guys looooove getting notes on the podcast…Kevin- can you please pass along that there is a sizable contingent of listeners that would listen to an entire episode with the fake voice modulator bit,

I keep getting served ads for pants for men with thick thighs

bloodflart

dang I wanted to get their takes on Barry/Succession/ITYSL

Any other Blocked Party listeners out there? Stefan Heck went off on a legendary rant about the freaks who like AI on the latest episode, similarly to the boyz here. I love it. AI art is bad and weird and enjoyed by the worst people on earth

When i was maybe 12 or 13 my dad took me to a Bill Ayers from the Weather Underground presentation at the Chicago Historical Society and it was super cool. Very confusing years after when he became a "boogy man" in the Obama campaign but that was only the tip of the iceberg for how bad the right would get

I’ve been on the same station doing morning talk show for food segments cause we were the only ppl that made non white ppl food… me and my pops did the food and I almost did the same thing cause my dad didn’t speak a lick of American! 😂 different host though… 2018-19ish?

My issue with Wes Anderson is asking myself if I want to knowingly expose myself to another source of concentrated whiteness. As a person of color living in the states, I gotta limit that shit for the sake of my own sanity.

I played rugby with the sons of the vktry insole founder about 5 years ago. They seem to work for jump height, lots of pro and Olympic athletes use them, notably max clung the dunk contest this year. I use them, not sure if they help washed up formerly competitive athletes.

You came to the right podcast then. I've learned a lot about different cultures from these movies.

I had jump soles growing up! The later version in middle and high school. My brothers and shared a pair. They seem to work some what. But I also was obsessed with plyometrics back then. I was a pretty good track high jumper pretty good high school and college so who knows of it was the shoes or actual training.

It has certainly been a valuable insight as to the spectre of white gaze AND shitass cishet masculinity as expressed over the course of three decades of cinema the majority of which I consumed prior to my brain being fully formed. So yeah I dare say the typical action boyz movie offers more insight than any wes anderson flick and his various worlds of quirky, well-monied whiteness.

Jump soles auto corrected to hump soles for me so I think we got gape gloves 2.0 ready to go.

Hammerthrust Von Sexron

I walk past 28 Howard every day. Beautiful building. Thanks ABZ, this movie is everything I like.

Eugenio Triana

Peeping Tom ep would be great

I feel similarly about The Boys. And it’s run by the guy who ran Supernatural so I’m sure he’ll fucking stretch this shit for years

Remember when I was really little feeling the Stanger anxiety when Linda would play Charlie Chaplin on Sesame Street. I'd have to leave the room because I knew she was going to get in trouble.

Keith (Karl) Urban just got cast in the Mortal Combat sequel as Johnny Cage. A movie your future sons and/or nephews will surely review on this pod 100 years from now.

The boyz gotta do the Red Shoes or The Life & Death of Colonel Blimb dude

As of today, After Hours (1985) is no longer on MAX. Perfect timing.

Thanks for After Hours... Never would've watched otherwise.

Never saw After Hours before, so freaking good I loved it

Watching Wes Anderson stuff gives me the same feeling I imagine I'd get were I forced to sit at the foot of the bed as Jason Schwartzman, Sofia Coppola, and Nick Cage had a prolonged, meth/ coke addled threeway but with the airconditioning on high so the smells aren't so bad.

Peeping Tom was so ahead of its time it ruined Michael Powell’s career.

Jon Smith

Rodgers was talking about commercial directors ripping off Wes Anderson but Wes Anderson directs commercials, so if it really looks like him it might be. “who knows”

The jump soles conversation just reminded of the kid memory that a new pair of shoes if the right shape was guaranteed to make you run faster in my 7 year old brain

Was just recently rewatching the interview with Tupac and MTV's Tabitha Soren. Fun 20-minute hang with him if you're in the mood https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpPbYGJRg0Q

On Guy Ritchie movies do the Boyz have their favorites? Do you generally like his style usually fast paced with interweaving characters in the overall story?

Anonymous

Same. I actually ended up watching it three times. I did a watch prior to the episode drop, then again with the commentary tracks and lastly a third time after the boys covered it. Absolutely loved it.

Will See

Hell yeah

NWA had some pretty rowdy and emotionally charged tracks

Degrassi Knoll

So it was the sneakers that caused Michael Richards to slur?
