that song joni does is coyote from her album hejira with jaco pastorius. fucking amazing record. the song makes more sense after you've heard the studio version, but you're right, not much of a hook to speak of.

I’d love to know the Boyz take on the Robertson Helm feud, also the inclusion of Neil Diamond.

Wanted to ask Gabrus what is was like growing up while the Long Island Serial Killer (never caught/identified) was active and if he could have had a run in with him during that creepy van encounter. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Island_serial_killer

wondering if everyone has finished Heat 2? would love to hear thoughts as Stanger was not there for the initial discussion

Dustin

I finished it. I'd say it was just ok. Loved Vincent Hanna's scenes. The Paraguay stuff felt like a prequel to Blackhat more than a sequel to Heat. And there were just far too many coincidences to feel satisfied.

Dustin

I thought "everyone" was opening the question up to me specifically. Very disappointed you're not into my very important and interesting take on things.

Jason Wendleton

I'm 2/3 the way through it and agree with Dustin mostly. It's an old fashioned page Turner for better and worse. It does play like a Mann Greatest hits. The Paraguay stuff feels like Black hat and Miami Vice (film).

Scott Tammel

Just want to shout out Rodgers for bringing up TraumaZone by Adam Curtis. Only half way through but its very interesting.

Are you guys watching TULSA KING? if so, whatcha think?

Can't get you out of my head and Hypernormalisation from Curtis are also well worth a watch, those do have some Voiceover so are a little different but if you like TraumaZone you'll most likely enjoy them.

Emmylou Harris is so beautiful in The Last Waltz; angelic. That song Joni Mitchell sang in the film had crazy rhythm. It was hard to find the hook in her song, but Mitchell definitely made it work. Dylan’s “Forever Young” - always hits me in the feels.
