Hocus Pocus 2 is a perfect example of the backslide of cinematography and mise-en-scène in streaming service movies. Watching the original and the new one back to back the decline is striking.

The one narrated by Frank Muller is the one they listened to, it's the "Recorded Books Presents" edition according to the cover I'm looking at.

The girl who predicted columbine’s family started an organization in her honor called Rachel’s Challenge that went to high schools around the country- mine included- telling that story (and literally showing the pictures of that drawing on a projector like Stanger joked about). I think it was ultimately an anti-bullying thing but they REALLY played up the stuff about her predicting the massacre. It was wild.

Anyone ever see the photos of Jonathan Ames' boxing match? He wins it and the photos after with then-girlfriend Fiona Apple are... weird and super hot. Shes looking up at him in one photo with the most "I want to fuck you so bad right now" looks ever. And hes a weird looking dude, with a strange, circus-like crowd, so the photos got a lot going on.

Yeah, I know man, it can be a bummer to listen to. I wish they could just do a segment at the end where they talk about how annoying their fans are. But, then I think about how much I love their sweet punims. So I cover up the bruises with concealer, and I forgive them.

Yeah I might actually unsubscribe from shadow wolves tier. It’s just really off putting. If they did good movies for SW I would be more inclined to put up with the fan bashing

Hey man, do what you need to. It’s not meant to be funny, but it’s the kind of thing which tends to get worse if left unaddressed. We lost a listener because we made fun of his conspiracy theories about Wakanda, we lost some listeners because we said climate change was real and gun control was a good idea. We’ll probably lose some for asking people online to stay in their lane. We have a really small listenership, so if talking about it keeps even two people from acting like problematic fans - that makes a big difference. If you aren’t one of the people we’re talking about, don’t take offense and feel free to skip that minute of the show and enjoy the other two hours.

Hey, I appreciate the response. It sucks you guys have to deal with this still, I'm sure it's really annoying. Like you said on the pod, people are just trying to show their fandom /appreciation of you guys, they just do it in strange ways. Maybe some of them have ill intent, I don’t know. It just comes off poorly to me, but I don't see the comments people leave on your other stuff so who knows, maybe it is that bad The film fan/Wakanda, gun stuff, climate change stuff at least brought some comedy /content to the pod. I know you said this wasn’t supposed to be funny, but the main reason I listen to the pod is for comedy, and these rants are just a downer all around. I am 100% not one of these people, so maybe that's part of why it bugs me so much. Love you guys. No other pod/content has brought me more joy over the last five years than the ABZ. Please don’t bring this up on the pod.
