I was thrilled hearing Stanger fight the battle of, “it’s appropriate to ask about movies on a movie podcast” but then he threw me off the fucking bus when he started in on the intimacy of hot beverages vs cold ones. Wild ride.

Guys this one is so much fucking fun. I came years ago for the love of the action boyz, and I stay for the movies I would never watch otherwise.

James Coburn is always a bigger star for much longer in my mind than he was in reality. Crying shame. Would have loved him to be about for the audiobook era, his voice is great. Cracking film, I hadn’t seen it before, and it was a real treat.

I was curious about Stanger's modern period piece question as well and found Rodgers' irritated response to be much less entertaining than a considered response. Bit of a buzzkill.

Love the Dick Wolf punt on the Speed Weed credit

Jon Smith

I figured Speed was a nickname for Spedowski or something

I'd love if yall did a Shadow Wolves episode on Fat City someday, great John Huston flick with Stacey Keach as a boxer past his prime training young Jeff Bridges

Is Stanger doing pistol squats with kettle bells?

From Parts Unknown

I think Coburn calls those things "palmers." Didn't look it up, but rewatched the scene.

I do think you're guys' observations on boxing are pretty funny considering you released this episode two days after Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua. Which did more in pay-per-view buys than 95% of UFC events. It's still super popular internationally. There aren't many great American heavyweight boxers at the moment because we've mostly funneled our best athletes into stick and balls sports. Which, because we do place a massive amount of reverence on the heavyweight title is why Americans don't care to much for boxing.
