I'll be making the move to LA before the end of the year. Any tips for a newbie? I'm from Cleveland so I'm already familiar with spontaneous fires.

Motorcycle rider here answering your question from Black Rain: I'm in Boston not NY but I think it's probably the same thing. I actually don't have a proper motorcycle right now but shifting is just like a manual vehicle, it just becomes second nature. I do have a 150cc Honda Scooter which means I can get up to 65. It's very fun to drive around the city and amazing to park. Greater Boston is almost all permit parking but all you have to do is put your cover on your scooter/motorcycle and no one will check so you don't have to worry about finding a meter anywhere or pay for a permit because you're exempt. I've had bikes for 6 years here now and have had no problems besides one getting stolen a while back.
