Chapter 62

Empty. Looking at the ceiling while laying in bed, with a feeling of emptiness inside, that´s how Colin feels like right now.

No job, no income, no place he can call his. Now, he´s moved in with Lillian. And she pays for everything.

“But… that´s what makes me worry, I… I don´t feel like I´m actually giving anything back.” He admitted.

“But…” he started.

Lillian placed her large index finger over his lips and shushed him gently. “Shh, it´s ok. I don´t mind, in fact, I love doing it. It… it makes me feel good…” Good? By doing it or, does she feel like she´s paying for what she´s done to him?

Poor Colin, because of her, he´s unemployed, roofless, and he also believes he´s got some sort of strange illness that makes him shrink. And all because of her…

“You´re such a sweet lady, but… but I´m worried! What if… what if you get tired?” he said.

“Of… of me. I don´t want to become a burden. I don´t mean to trouble you. And… and if I can´t give anything back, then… then what can I do?” He felt as if he was all taking, and not giving at all.

“And what makes you think you´re not giving anything back?” Lillian said, with her sweet, tender voice. “Hmm? Colin, the only thing I need from you is love. I make my own money, and I make plenty for us both, I don´t mind cooking, cleaning, I already told you. But, there´s nothing better than the sweet love you give me. I don´t care if you don´t have a job, all I care is that we´re together, and that´s it. That´s all I need.” She reassured. Looking at him in the eyes, true to herself, and true to him.

“Are you… you sure?” he said, convinced by the sparkling look of her lovely eyes.

“I am. Colin, I love you, dear. All I care for is that you love me back.” A pause, after those words, there was a brief pause.

Colin felt good, warm inside. How can this be true? How come this isn´t a dream?

Lillian was a muse. She had the face of an angel and a body that aroused him to the very core. And she was sweet, tender, caring and so gentle.

Was this it? Had he actually found that someone special? Unconditional love? Someone who cares? Someone who´ll actually do anything for you?

He´d love if he could give more back. But if love is all she wants, all she needs, then…

“Lillian, you´re the sweetest woman I´ve met. I… I´m glad we´re together. I love you.” His words, his caramel-sweet words, they melted her heart.

Jonathan was at Melissa´s apartment. At this time of the day, he was just waiting for her to come back.

Unlike Colin, Jonathan could still make money. When you make a living out of your gamer career, there´s some times when you can earn a nice amount of money without actually interacting with anyone. Not even a live-stream.

In fact, he had thought about this, including his voice alone to his streams was enough, but he needed to give just a little more. People do like watching a pro playing games, but it´s nicer to see someone in it. To put a face to the voice, to know where the voice comes from, that´s better.

With an income still in hand, he still had access to the regular stuff. Going out wasn´t quite an option, but he still had the power to acquire things, through online orders.

Melissa wouldn´t charge him at all. Not for food, electricity, or any sort of rent. He insisted he could put his share to it, but she politely denied it.

Unlike him, she´s become a monumental lady. Standing at 6´6”, her new height has provided more confidence to her. Plus, she looks imposing. There´s a saying that taller people often get higher positions at an office.

Which isn´t totally true, however, her imposing height does give her a much more authoritarian look. Which granted her a bonus, she stands out more, and now, they want to promote her.

Like Colin, Jonathan´s been looking for a way to give back. And he´s got an idea…

He made an online order, and it will be delivered today. To avoid any interactions, he gave very specific instructions. They must knock at the door and leave the package there. Simple.

Jonathan was worried, the delivery guy hasn´t arrived, and Melissa was about to arrive. He was worried this surprise might be ruined.

“Come on, it was supposed to be delivered over an hour ago!” He complaint as he tracked his delivery.

Why was it that, whenever you´re trying to do something for someone else, things just don´t seem to happen as fast as they should? Delays, inconveniences, things stepping in the way. It´s always like this when you have a plan.

knock knock “Delivery!” he heard as a random guy, who must be the delivery person, came to the door.

For a second, a second that seemed to last forever, he was worried they might miss the instructions. He won´t open the door. He´s been shrunken all the way down to 1´2”, the least he has to explain, the better.

He´d love to avoid opening the door, which he can´t reach anyways.

The good thing is, the delivery guy left. He could hear him walking away. One step after another, leaving the door.

He felt relieved. Maybe the guy only took a picture of the delivered package before he left. As a proof that it was delivered. Which was a good way to confirm it. Either way, he was gone. Now, he only had to wait for a moment before he opened the door, just to be sure there was no one there.

Jonathan waited for what should be a minute. And then, he thought this through, he can´t reach the knob.

The good thing is, there was a chair conveniently placed next to the door. At least close-by. He pushed it and then worked his way with the knob.

After taking much longer than should be necessary, he picked the delivery from the door. And what was it?

He wanted to surprise Melissa, therefore, he bought a bunch of flowers. Roses, red roses. Jonathan had something in mind. This was a way to thank her for what she´s done, plus, he had another thing in mind.

After a while, he could hear the click-clacking of her heels as she approached the door.

Part of him was wondering, why does she need heels? Wasn’t she tall enough? Then, he remembered seeing, online, as a complaint of course, that tall women shouldn´t be allowed to wear heels. But the thing is, heels do compliment her outfit.

He heard her keys and then, the door was slowly being opened from outside. Jonathan stood right in front of the door, as standing as straight as he could, holding the roses right in front of him.

“Welcome!” he said, loud so that the amazon could hear him.

Melissa was in fact expecting to see him by the door. He often comes to receive her. She knows that the reason might be because he feels alone. He´s been stuck at this apartment for so long now. He must be tired already.

But he doesn´t want to go out, even if she has insisted a bit. But not too much, she understands how he feels. Besides, with his short legs, it was more convenient to carry him around, which will be humiliating to him.

“Oh my… are those… roses?” she asked.

“Yeah, they are for you.” He rose them so that she could grab them.

The look of the gigantic woman, picking the roses from him. It was surreal.

“Thank you!” where did he got them from? She can´t ask, they are a gift.

“I hope you like them.” He smiled.

“Oh, I love them. May I ask… why?” she said.

“Official?” she asked.

“I, yes. Listen, you are such a wonderful woman and… and I… I was wondering if you and me… if we… you know, could be… a couple?” he was so nervous.

Jonathan can´t deny that a part of him was expecting her to reject him. She´s so sweet, but, would a girl like her want to be with a guy like him?

Melissa got on her knee and went down so that he was closer.

“A couple? You and I?” she asked, still high above him, but looking at him way closer.

“I… yes! Listen, you are just the perfect woman. And, if you would… accept me, I… I´d love it if you could allow me to be your… boyfriend. Would you… grant me that honor?” This almost feels like a marriage proposal, his whole face has turned red.

From his point of view, he was looking up at a gargantuan woman. Tall, gorgeous, her smile was so sweet. But, could her response be as sweet?

He waited for a moment, a moment that felt like forever. Can he handle rejection? Or worse, what happens if she does reject him? This will mean things will become awkward. Could she live with the fact that she lives with a man that´s in love with her? And that his love isn´t reciprocated? If she doesn’t love him back, then things are ruined.

“I´d love to.” What? Had she just…?

Did he hear right? Had she just said yes? For real!

“You… you´d love to?” he couldn´t believe it!

“Yes. I like you, I truly do. No matter the size, I think you´re such a sweet man. I… I think we could make this work.” What had taken him so long then?

Thankfully, things came out well for Jonathan. Now, things are finally going his way.

But, could things go Colin´s way too?

He doesn´t have as much as a proposal to ensure everything´s fine. Right now, he´s a little depressed about his current situation. And Lillian´s love only seems to calm his worries for a moment.

At dinner time, Colin wasn´t as cheerful as he should. In fact, he was just pushing food around his plate.

Lillian could notice, from the other side of the table. She was worried things might change for worse. He wasn´t the confident man she met, he doesn´t seem shy because he´s before her, now, he seems just quiet.

Has she caused this? Has she made a mistake again?

“Colin, dear, why are you so quiet? Don´t you like the food?” Lillian asked, truly hoping his answer would be no, and that the food was the cause of his sadness.

“No, I… I just, don´t feel that hungry…” this wasn´t a good sign.

This was starting to become an issue. And Lillian wasn´t sure if she had the cure for him. But she had a bit of an idea on how to cheer him up.

She waited for him to be in bed. And then, before he gets alone with his thoughts, she came through the door.
