Huge episodes this go around! You’ve gotten to learn about the gems and their process of poofing and regeneration! Such big discoveries. You also got to learn about some of Lion’s powers and that he definitely knows more than he lets on. More in focus however is the development of Steven and Connie as a duo. I really enjoyed that they showed she has some insecurities about being an average human thrown into this world of magic. It’s not something I personally see addressed in media like this, but I feel like it would be super disorienting and would make you feel some type of way. For Steven though, Connie’s world of “average” things is JUST as mystifying to him as the magic is to Connie. It creates this nice dynamic. I also really enjoyed that Steven wasn’t actually the one to control the sword, despite him having received an actual demonstration. It took Connie thinking back to her tennis practice for them to defeat that robot thing. …Imagine going to the movie theater and you get stuck sitting behind a lion.

Things are starting to pick up and we are learning more and more about things works. There's a common theory that the reason it took Pearl so long to regenerate was Holo-Pearl being active was messing with her Gem and preventing her from doing so. Hence why she popped back out almost as soon as Holo-Pearl was taken off line. Then we have... Steven and Connie simply being adorable together!
