YAAAAAYYYY!!! Glad to see you back! Will get through the backlog as fast as I can! So anyway, on to the typing! This ep has a special place for me, as it's the first ep I caught live after binging the rest of the series, so it's pretty much where I joined up with the fandom as a whole. And a good ep to do so, not one of the best of all time, but just a really solid, fun ep with a good message, so, the average of what makes the show so good. Here, we see what I've been talking about before come into fuller form, of the CMC being differentiated in what their individual focus will be. All three are used to explore ideas of growing up, but each has a different focus, Sweetie Belle's being that of how growing up affects your relationship with your siblings. I love this the most of the three, because of how well it handles things and keeps the lesson one that both sides should learn, the younger and older siblings. I love that in this one, there isn't really a 'bad guy'. Yeah Rarity had the bigger lesson to learn, but she was still doing her best and held back a lot when you could tell she was upset, but didn't take it out on Sweetie till things just got too bad for her to hold it in. Just, great dynamic here! Fandom wise..... Sweetie Belle will never live down how much she Epic Fails at cooking, with some fics having the CMC use the threat of having her cook for someone as their ultimate trump card. We also have the whole "As Celestia as my witness..." bit which, 1. More showing how the Ponies have a pseudo-religious view of Celestia and 2. Is a great nod to Gone With the Wind. This show has some references no kid would get. Also doing this to sneak stuff passed the censors, like the "Grape Juice" yeah.... that is not how grape Juice is made.... but it is a common way of making wine. Also grats on spotting Derpy! Let's see if the streak keeps going! Not much from Best Pony,though we did get a lot of Dinky Hooves, the little unicorn filly that fans have decided is Derpy's foal. Her partnering with Amethyst/Sparkler led to a lot of headcanons, with many just adding Sparkler to the family as Derpy's older daughter, but personally I prefer the "Sparkler is part of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Equestria, specially with a bit from an upcoming ep. Though when you paused I thought you'd caught on that "Applejack's" eye color and shape had changed when she got out of the mud pit. Early hint that this was Rarity. Great to see you back to the show!

lol I thought you stopped and was rewinding because you saw that AJ was actually rarity but still stopping for derpy is good. this is one of my fave episodes because of the bonding with sweetie and rarity and the sweetie voice cracks ^^ you know rarity by now and for her to run around caked in mud shows her dedication to her sister. also this episode will be referenced in the future so try and recall it when it happens. I'll remind you and if not Seraphem absolutely will (they always have the full scope of episode and fandom)
