A few years back I stumbled upon a website that hosted Transformation based games. Some of you might have heard about it, TFGames Site.

This was I believe back in 2015, the good old day before the pandemic. Having long been a fan of Adult Fiction, and CYOA type stories, I eventually, after playing my fair share of games on the site, decided that I wanted to try my hand at making my own.

I was a fan of JoeForest's "S.L.U.T. Academy" and went about thinking about different ways I could branch off from the themes in his game. Ultimately, what I came up with, after a few DMs back and forth with JoeForest himself, was a game that would be called "Institute for T.A.R.T.S."  ("Teaching, Academic Research & Technological Studies" Clever right?)

As I started writing away at my little Twine game, I realized something, I wanted images for my game. This would ultimately be the downfall of T.A.R.T.S. ever getting finished. Over the Christmas break that year, I went about reading books on learning Javascript, so that I could get the most out of the Twine engine as I possibly could, and once my kids were back to school I quickly went about downloading Daz Studio and learning how to render my own images.

This is one of my early iRay renders, using mostly the free assets that came with the program's tutorial, using my measly, even at the time, GTX 650 GPU.

The problem started when I started spending more time learning to render and less time writing and coding the game. Never happy with subpar renders, I re-rendered scenes over and over again, each time applying some of the new knowledge that I had learned, or adding new assets that I had bought.

One of the many versions of the scene I had for one of the characters getting out of the pool.

Over time I realized that I wanted to work more on the rendering side of things for the time being. That eventually led to my work doing renders for Brickdoorway on The eWardrobe.

While trying to create art that matches someone else's vision was a challenge, it was a great learning experience. Sadly I had several events in my home life, that I will not get into here, which led to me having less and less time to spend on rendering. At the same time, Brick was looking to increase the number of images with each release. Ultimately I chose to step away from the project, a choice I think was the right one to make.

I still spent time rendering, learning new things, just at a much shorter pace. Eventually, those mentioned life events sorted themselves out and I found myself looking to make my own game once again.

I debated starting up with T.A.R.T.S., but my interest in working with Twine was not what it used to be. What I really wanted to make was a VN style game that would stand out more with my 3D renders. There were only about 5 other people on the planet who even knew about T.A.R.T.S. so no one would be mad at me for abandoning it...

I tossed around a few ideas in my head. All I knew, is that I wanted it to be a game that featured my choice fetishes, Breast Expansion, Moral Corruption, and maybe a bit of Pregnancy.

My first Idea was about a chaste young woman who goes on a road trip with her promiscuous mother. Along the way, her mother would plot to corrupt her in an attempt to get her to have sex and conceive her a grandchild. This would involve the mother giving her daughter pills to improve her figure, to better attract a mate.

After a few other ideas that did not really go anywhere, I decided I wanted to make more of a traditional style Harem VN with a male protagonist. This ultimately led me to where I am now, working on my current game. But I will leave that part for its own future post.
