This Penny Progression is something I started working on back in November, but it got moved back with the workload of other things taking priority.

It's not much of a progression with just 3 images, I know. The plan is to have them feel like Instagram-style posts that Penny is making herself, once a week updating us on her progression.

(For those who do not remember Penny, she is Jennifer's sister, who we met back at the bar. She was already a few months pregnant at that time.

Unfortunately, I've been having little time to work on things like the comic. Family life has been taking up all my free time.

Last week was a bit of a shit show with threats being made to the school my offspring attend. So I had several days of dealing with the stress of family members. Thankfully nothing ever came from those threats, but hearing about all the school shootings that have happened in the US over the years, the threat of it happening up here is something people worry about.

My own stress over the issue manifested as a bout of the worst insomnia that I have had in recent memory. I'm starting to get my sleeping in order, (as I type this at 4 am...) but now we are into March Break and school is out.

I'm going to be busy with the Dad thing the rest of the week with there being no school. So to avoid the emotional burnout from last week turning into professional burnout this week, I'm not going to attempt to rush out a comic page this week.

I do plan on spending most of this coming weekend just working on renders, so I should have a comic ready by next Monday.

I want to officially start Penny's weekly progression posts before the month ends. I have 50% of the work done for those, most of the work left is just actually rendering things out and then post-work. I'd like to have a buffer of several weeks before I start posting those though.

I'd also like to do a render for St. Patrick's Day but I'm not sure what to do for it. Send me your suggestions here or over on Discord.

A few ideas do come to mind when discussing St. Patrick's day. You could take the bonnie lasses (yes, bonnie is from the Scottish lexicon rather than Irish, but fun fact, St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was born in Scotland) of the Barnes family for a themed render. You could either just use Jennifer and Penelope when they're younger or when they're older and include their kids such as Eva. Alternatively, you could use a Leprechaun for some shortstack fun. Perhaps making a reference to someone forgetting to wear green allowing said Leprechaun to see and target them considering the legends state that wearing green made one invisible to Leprechauns. It could be something fun to play around with at least and a potential break from the usual cast if you feel like you could use or need something different to do. Finally, you could go the pagan route instead. St. Patrick's Day and the Christian Easter could be argued to have been created to weaken and replace pagan traditions such as Germanic and Celtic Ostara (spring equinox festival) and feasts of the goddess Eostre. Eostre is a fertility goddess with hares, rabbits, and eggs as theorized symbols. Although, this would arguably make her more fitting for an actual Easter render as a bunny-eared fertility goddess rather than a St. Patrick's Day/Spring Equinox festival render. However, it is still food for thought. In any case, I do hope that you find this at least a little useful and thank you for taking the time to read this.

My go to for past St. Patty's day has been throwing the Red Head in some Green and maybe add some shamrocks. lol. So any fresh ideas are always welcome. A short stack leprechaun might be fun.
