20:22 There's a small misunderstanding, Roswaal is telling him to think about Emilia first, above himself, and above Emilia's own wish. That's what it means to be "like him" (Roswaal). That's quite different from the witches telling him to think about himself. It also explains why Roswaal sent the assassins: he wants to force Subaru to make a choice (=Emilia), to sacrifice stuff to strengthen his resolve toward Emilia, as the only person that counts. Anyway, the witches indeed don't seem that bad, just incomprehensible. Echidna in particular seems to only want to see "interesting" things, as she did toward Beatrice: genuine and insatiable curiosity, albeit very cold.
