If there was ever a time to respawn, now would be it. Who even are the clan members that just randomly showed up? I can only imagine they're responsible for the killings of Rem and all the other villagers.

The reason why the Appa kid event was different was because ,He did the 2nd respawn with a whole different approach of not meeting Emilia.So Emilia met the kid herself only.That's why Subaru made the statement after seeing the kid with the flower signifying that " she emelia" does good no matter the time".And also without Subuaru Emilia would have gotten to the loot house wey quicker,as it was shown in the 2nd respawn approach(Subaru even said it when he saw her that this was how earlier she would have gotten there without him) .So Emilia got to the kid who was lost wey earlier .

Subaru has been so Selfish from the past episodes to this point.One thing you need to consider is too,they know Subaru as a human who is weak, rightfully so 2 demon sisters.Emelia who has a spirit(puck) and she's a half elf,and beatrice and roswal with insane powerful magic won't be having him come into danger.Same reason why Felix warned him that there's nothing he can do cause he's going to die,which he does several times

A bit late, but don't feel bad about spending time thinking about something that ends up being inconsequential. The anime sometimes doesn't do a good job of clarifying some things (a downside of losing Subaru's inner monologue, which is inevitable for an anime adaption of a light novel). Time of day is one of the things that's pretty easy to miss as well, since generally the only indications are how light it is. That said, there are times where you would need to have that level of detectiving to solve a mystery, so keep it up, it might just be right!
