Delving straight into another Isekai after starting my first only weeks ago, and I'm already loving how Re:Zero seems to be breaking with what I'm assuming is tradition. Subaru is actually far from shocked to find himself in a whole new world, but instead is disappointed with his complete lack of any powers and forced to make a name for himself.

I finished the first season last night and I must say I liked it a lot and in some ways more than I expected. The discussion about which is the best isekai is almost always between Mushoku Tensei and Re:zero (it comes from years with fans of their novels) and now I can understand why. Between the two, I think I have my winner, I don't want to put you on the spot but at the end of both series I'd like to hear from you which one you thought was better and why haha. I'll see the reaction later, which I'm sure will be great as always.

Interesting, I didn't even know those two are generally in the running when considering the best Isekai! I do like how they both seem very different in their own ways already. I'll definitely give you my opinions on each show's strengths and weaknesses and which of the two I ultimately prefer later on!

Well actually there are many opinions and it depends on taste and what aspects you think are the most important in a show, but in the most civilised and serious discussions I've seen those two always come out on top, and from everything I've seen of the genre I totally agree. I look forward to seeing your opinion. By the way, in this episode we could hear the voice of another reincarnated, see if you can find it haha.
