Hey everyone,

As most of you know, I moved out of my family's house and into my own apartment about two weeks ago. On one hand, I've been absolutely loving the freedom it has given me and I've been able to adapt to the new space pretty quickly. On the other, I've been struggling to hit some video deadlines and I wanted to clear up why.

Unfortunately, there's a problem I've been bumping into and it's a major one for me. I think I underestimated how difficult I'd find it to record from here. While the building itself is surprisingly quiet and I don't usually feel bothered by others, I ám able to hear my direct neighbors pretty vividly when they do talk. This in turn is making me all the more self-conscious about my own sound that I'm making while recording. Most apartments here have only one tenant, so you don't hear much talking, but when you do it's VERY noticeable. Especially when recording, I just feel restricted now. I have to force myself to speak more quietly and even then I feel like I'm talking to the whole building, constantly worried I can be overheard by others. I don’t think I have to explain to you how this is far from ideal, especially for someone with a “reaction” channel. I had obviously hoped that this place would be able to provide a huge boost to my productivity, but instead it's doing the opposite right now. I'm constantly delaying my recordings and have to push myself over a hurdle each time to get started.

I became aware of this earlier already and tried giving it a few weeks to see if things would get any better, but I've basically come to the conclusion now that this is unsustainable for me and it really sucks having to admit that. On Saturday, I’ll be moving my recording setup back to my family home and record new content from there. For now, I figured it could be an option to record all my content on one or two days per week from there while possibly doing the editing and other work from my apartment, using it to live the rest of my life independently. It's no doubt gonna feel somewhat impractical though. Logic tells me I'll probably have no choice but go all the way back and take my losses soon enough. Thankfully, my contract has a minimum stay period of only 30 days so I can leave whenever I want. Still, I'm not gonna lie how bummed out I feel about it all. I've learned my lesson though, and now I know I'll definitely have to go looking for a house instead in order to keep doing what I do in complete privacy.

Other than Vinland Saga, the content for this week did and will still be going up on the expected days. I'll try my best to get Vinland Saga recorded and edited by the weekend. Thanks for bearing with me as I’m trying to figure it all out!

Oof, sucks that it didn't work out. Hope you'll be able to find a more suitable place soon!

Thanks man, here's hoping as well! At least it's been a learning experience and I know what to look for next now.

Hey robin, sorry to hear your move didn’t go as you initially planned. Here’s an idea that might be of use to you! A cheap mattress can be used to sound proof your room! You can buy a cheap one from Amazon, and the best thing is it wont damage your apartment! Hope this helps if you use it 😅
