I thought that it was bit confusing, when Lawrence suggested the deal with Amati and talked about receiving the money for the deal "now". Instead the actual deal was done on the next morning (the events at the end of this episode). Lawrence was just collecting information beforehand, where he can buy the pyrite off market. So, now he just has to obtain enough pyrite to cause a market crash, sooner the better. And Amati paid for the deal with gold coins instead of silver, making it harder to buy small amounts unless Lawrence exchanges the coins first.
