When I first watched these episodes I was conflicted, too, about the morality of slaughtering 20,000 humans for their souls. You gotta wonder about the perversity of the natural laws of a world that makes human souls a kind of power source. You have to wonder about the moral ambiguity of Demon Lords who to become awakened True Demon Lords, the strongest monster/Majin evolution. The converse situation for humans doesn't require anything like that (a topic for another day). There is a fundamental opposition between monsters and humans built into the rules of the world, even though no one is making anyone act automatically according to that basis. Some people are more attuned to the purpose of all that, and only some of those people act purposefully according to their perception of support for that. Even fewer have an idea about why such a dichotomy exists. In the story, this underlying idea only becomes apparent over a long time, and even then, some of what I just said is still vague or speculative.

The reason Rimuru's eyes were red in the last episode is because Raphael had taken over; Rimuru himself was asleep. ..... All those who returned from the dead received a Skill called Complete Memory (aka Perfect Memory), as well as Ultraspeed Regeneration. Their memories are stored in their souls (and/or Rimuru's soul, because he too received that Skill). It means that even if their brain is damaged, they can heal and restore their minds, making them almost immortal. ...... . Veldora is hanging out in Rimuru's body in a spiritual form, having abandoned his physical body. Veldora is a spiritual life-form who can create his own physical body over time whenever he is revived after a death, even though he didn't die this time. More on this later. Anyway, his spiritual form used Rimuru's Replication to move the normal process along. He didn't have a human form before, so probably this body enabled him to form one for the first time. He changed it according to his tastes. A Soul Corridor is a closer connection than the connections formed when naming someone. For one thing, you can't lie when using it to communicate. This Soul Corridor also enabled Veldora to fully regenerate his soul's (or core's) spiritual and astral body, and gather his full strength in magicules. I think there is a delay in being able to reform his dragon body, though, but not a long one, no longer than a couple of months, possibly much sooner. ..... Diablo, and all demons, have a Skill called Create Material, which enables them to form whatever clothes they want. Diablo changed from wearing a ruler's to a subordinate's clothing, according to his concept of his role. ..... Rimuru now looks, according to the source, like an 11 or 12 year old. It's because of his natural size increasing. Demon slime doesn't mean he's a demon, but he's more demonic in the nature of his existence: he is now more spiritual and less physical. ..... Raphael is so much better at calculation (a much larger Computational Space) than before, and the increase in rate of the analysis of Unlimited Imprisonment demonstrates how much better it is. ..... Veldora needed to be revived in the cave to protect the environment from Veldora's uncontrolled aura.
