We've come to the end of our Fate/stay night journey! It's been an absolute joy getting to react to this series. For now, I've decided I'll take a break from from the Fate universe but not before I'll still be posting one last Fate reaction next Saturday, namely Fate/Strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn! I won't rule out that I'll still react to Grand Order, Apocrypha or another spin-off in the future, so I hope you'll stay tuned for those too! In the meantime, I'll start reacting to a couple of other popular anime soon, like Naruto which will start in about a week! Thank you all for having joined me on this amazing journey :)

Heaven feels adaptations rushed a bit, especially the lore dump, It can have 4 or 5 movie lengths of content instead of 3 I'll try to help explain but it's purely from my memory So the vision that Shirou and Illya see is the first holy grail war, they tried to reach the Root (Akasha if you remember Gigguk's video) by making a "miracle" that is Heaven's Feel. Heaven's Feel is self is the materialization of a soul making it possible for someone to be Immortal. so there are 2 endings for Heaven's feel: The normal ending is when you don't have enough Illya points making Shirou use Excalibur to end Angra Maiyuu and then he dies. The true ending (this movie) is when you have enough Illya points, she would save Shirou by closing the corrupted grail gate and performing Heaven's Feel with the help of Rin's pendant. Although it was the incomplete version that Shirou isn't necessarily immortal. So Shirou's soul is saved, but he no longer has a physical body. Then Rin and Sakura insert his soul into a puppet which is similar to a human body. The puppet maker is Touko Aozaki who also appears in other Nasu works btw Kirei does have a daughter. She is one of the main characters in the VN Hollow Ataraxia

I think it was only the origin backstory of the three families that I felt was rushed somewhat. The pacing was pretty much perfect for me with the last two movies so I would've appreciated just a little bit more time in this one to explain it better. Thanks for clearing everything up! Yeah I had read on the wiki already that the puppet was apparently important and connected to a character in the Nasuverse. Maybe one day I'll get to watch the other subseries and find out about those details! :)

He's back, don't worry about it

Well the anime itself is good, it just cut some Illya events from the VN and used short subtle explanations For comparison, the Heaven's Feel route is 1.5 longer than the Unlimited Blade Works route. And if my calculation is right then the 3 movies timeslot is shorter than 26 episodes of UBW Can you imagine UBW only having 2 movies and they need to shorten the realization build-up and/or shorten Archer's past explanation and how he feels? Might be still great but it won't hit as hard

Thanks for your reactions, it's great to see others enjoy this piece of an artwork. It's not perfect, the plot and the characters have their issues, but it's damn entertaining. And if you continue checking other Nasuverse storylines, it's fun to find the connecting pieces and small references. They didn't explain that Shirou's soul was put into a puppet or artificial body at the end. Also it's only slightly hinted, that Shirou was starting to lose the sense of himself during that last fight, forgetting everything including the names. And only remembering his purpose to end the Holy Grail. That's why he stuttered when he was trying to say Rider's name. In the end he forgets how to talk, and keeps repeating "Illya" as the last word he was able say. Illya uses True Magic, Heaven's Feel, to separate his soul, which Rin and Sakura are then able to recover. And later when they find a way, put his soul into an artificial body. If you want to see more about this person who created his body, check out Garden of Sinners (jpn. Kara no Kyoukai) movies. In both Fate and in Tsukihime storylines, Aozaki Touko is kind of like Nick Fury in the first marvel movies, just a mysterious person appearing at certain times and having unusual knowledge.

Thanks for the reactions! This movie series unfortunately cut out a few of my favorite scenes (mostly involving Illya and Kirei), but overall, I really like this adaption. I think they rushed a few things, like lore dumps and especially the ending. I think it's hard for anyone just watching the anime to undestand a lot of things, especially the ending with the saving of Shirou's soul and the puppet (and the red-headed puppet maker) :D The Heavens Feel route has a second ending in the VN btw, where Shirou dies projecting Excalibur and destroying the Grail. That ending destroyed me, as it depicts Sakura living on alone. I'm also sad that ufotable didn't animate the "Sparks Liner High" ending, as an OVA or something. That was just purest hype in the VN. If you have the time, you could probably watch that part of the VN on youtube; it's a "bad" ending where Shirou fails to convice Rider to help against Saber Alter and fights Saber alone. This is so hype, that it's just called "End" instead of the usual "bad end" or "dead end" :D

Happy to hear you enjoyed my journey man! Yeah I heard that the puppet maker was apparently connected to someone in the Nasuverse, I think I brought it up in either the Gigguk video reactions I posted a few days back or in the Strange Fake reaction still coming up! I hope I'll be able to check out some of the other spin-offs at some point in the future :)

Oh damn, sounds super intriguing! I'll have a look. I do agree with some of your criticisms btw. Tbh I think it's largely just this final movie that I found a bit flawed in certain areas, everything else in the Fate universe has been overwhelmingly positive for me. Glad to hear you enjoyed following my journey! :D

What the heck, I did not know Garden of Sinners was connected. I haven't read the VNs and have yet to watch the former.
