Just gonna say few things about what you asked about Archer. Although canonically Shirou from any routes we know has very little chance of becoming Archer, as he's from an unknown alternative timeline. But he had experienced the holy grail war, and he had experienced some events that we've seen. Still, a reason why he became what we saw, was because over the hundreds/thousands of years serving as a guardian, he forgot lot of the details about his past and his motives. Basically he just remembered that he strived to become hero of justice and the memory of Kiritsugu saving him. During the fight with Shirou, he was reminded of his past mindset and that gave him the resolve to continue as the guardian. Because even if it was a twisted way of living, it was still what he believed in.

Unfortunately they kind of glimpsed over the point where UBW route splits from Fate and Heaven's Feel. After Shirou summoned Saber, she fought with Lancer the same way as in UBW. Then after the fight, Saber notices Rin and Archer approaching and jumps to attack Archer. She manages to wound Archer when Shirou doesn't use his command spell to stop her. Then Rin uses her own command spell to retreat Archer and save him. Rin mentions that she needs to heal her servant, but they don't really explain what happened before. But due to this, Archer is unable to assist in the fight with Berserker, which changes the dynamics there and causes Shirou to jump in and save Saber. Again changing the fight by causing Illya to leave early due to the disappointment/shock with Shirou's actions. Finally of course Archer himself decides to drop his objective for the moment, because to fight with this shadow figure, they'll need all the help. And that's why he won't be as hostile towards Shirou in this route.

It seems that you forgot about Avalon in Shirou's body - that was the source of his self-healing in UBW as well. Also, yes, Saber remember the previous Holy Grail War. That is not normal, Servants usually only have memories from the time they were alive, not any other summonings. Saber is a special case here, but the reason she remembers the previous War and cannot turn into spirit form is only revealed in the Fate route, so I won't spoil it here. Someone else already wrote about where the "split" between the routes is; everything they wrote is about the "split" between the Fate route and UBW route. Archer being injured by Saber in their first meeting basically means that UBW route is impossible. What basically "causes" the Heaven's Feel route instead of the Fate route is then the fact that Shirou met Zouken at the Matou mansion at the beginning. Zouken asks after the "Einzbern girl", which means that Shirou has heard the name "Einzbern" before even meeting Illya; Zouken also realizes that Shirou, the successor of Kiritsugu, is basically clueless.

Yeah, details about Fate and HF split are much more vague in my mind (it's been like 15 years since I read/played through it), and explaining some of the things could still be spoilers before rest of the movies. I didn't consider that Shirou meeting Zouken is one major part of the split, but yeah, makes sense. Thanks for explaining it.
