oh you asked about the genre and thought there were similarities to trot! actually trot originally comes from japan and was then integrated into korea. which is why, for korean trot, sometimes you would hear it referred to as “japanese inspired trot” (there’s ALOT of history to further explain this with korean-japanese relations and so much to do with the japanese empire ext.. that I cant be bothered to go into in this comment so yeah 😅) even the celeb five song was originally a japanese song but they re-wrote korean lyrics over it. so I think the “trot” sound you were referring to is just a very “japanese music” sound 🤷 :)
