I hadn’t watched this movie in years! It’s so imaginative and hyper creative. And so visually rich! Good to see you mix up your styles of action heroes. Some other great Terry Gilliam films to see. “The Fisher King” (1991) “12 Monkeys” (1995) “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” (1998) And the blonde actress who played the nude goddess in the seashell and then waltzes with The Baron is Uma Thurman very early in her career. She’d go on to become a very successful and well known actress. Known for her films with director Quinten Tarantino “Pulp Fiction” and “Kill Bill”. Uma Thurman also starred in a phenomenal film from the 90s called “Gattaca” (1997) Highly recommend this one!

Charles McKeown who played Adolphus, the one with the amazing eyesight, you've seen before in Life of Brian. He was the centurion struggling not to laugh in the Biggus Dickus scene. Winston Dennis who played Albrecht the strongman you've seen before in Time Bandits. You wouldn't recognize him as he has a bull head on when he's fighting Sean Connery. And finally, Jack Purvis who was Gustavus, the one with the ears and lungs you've also seen before in Time Bandits as Wally. "I'm sorry I killed you Fidgit." You've also seen him in several Star Wars roles.

Excellent reaction. This was Uma Thurman's first acting job, although because of the inordinate production delays for this movie, was not her debut. She also belongs to the very short list of actors who were hired on their very first audition. Robin Williams was a last-minute casting after the budget had run out, and performed his role uncredited and unpaid. This movie forms an informal trilogy with director Terry Gilliam's previous films, Time Bandits (1981) and Brazil (1985). The three movies represent the three stages of Man (youth, middle age, and elderly) and the impact of imagination on each. Jack Purvis and Winston Dennis appear in all three films. Of the three, this is the only one is which Dennis has speaking lines and his face is seen. Eric Idle called the production, "A truly horrible experience and even remembering it is a bit of a nightmare." He later said of the film, "Up until Munchausen, I'd always been very smart about Terry Gilliam films. You don't ever be in them. Go and see them by all means - but to be in them, fucking madness!!!"
