Dawn, your instincts are honestly pretty impressive sizing up characters & stories! None of us guess everything perfect but I'd wager on your predictions any day! Of all of the crew, Jayne is the only one who "acts out" like a jackass at times. Is that a flaw? That's for each fan to decide for themselves. Despite that tho, he's pretty adaptable, most of the time. It's clear he's had some poor influences shape who he is before Capt. Mal Reynolds entered his life. Not making excuses for his behavior but he isn't evil or dumb. Stubborn, greedy & a bit selfish, yup! Although being like he's been has helped him survive in their universe, it blinds him to the fact that he's making himself his own worst enemy often, lol.
