I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas present. Thank you so much! Yes, Connie is John's wife, although they had divorced before the second series. She also had several bit parts in Monty Python. You'd probably best remember her as the girl at Michael's side during the Lumberjack Song. Their daughter Cynthia played Archie's daughter Portia in A Fish Called Wanda.

Wonderful, I loved your reaction to this classic. This will be my best December in years with you reacting to Fawlty Towers 😁. The idea of the show came from Cleese after he stayed at the Gleneagles Hotel in Torquay, Devon in 1970 (along with the rest of the Monty Python troupe), where he encountered the eccentric hotel owner Donald Sinclair. Stuffy and snobbish, Sinclair treated guests as though they were a hindrance to his running of the hotel (a waitress who worked for him stated "it was as if he didn't want the guests to be there"). The Wooburn Grange Country Club in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire was used for the exterior shots of the hotel. It was severely damaged by a fire in 1991 and was subsequently demolished.

WHAT?! I don't remember anyone saying that Portia was John and Connie's daughter! 😂 I had to go check.

He's perfectly portrayed Donald Sinclair then! Aww that's a shame I would have liked to see the hotel 😥 but I also would have liked to stay in it and see Mr Fawlty 😂
