A couple of shows to recommend: -'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' (1981) is a 6-part sci-fi comedy written by the late great Douglas Adams. -Keeping Up Appearances (1990-95) a sitcom starring Patricia Routledge. I think you would enjoy them. Also, a good war movie is 'M*A*S*H' (1970) followed by the show of the same name (1972-81). Rather than following soldiers, these stories follow the field surgeons who treated the wounded during the Korean War.

Wanna see a Mel Gibson war movie.....gotta watch We Were Soldiers then. Good flick and I believe it's based on a true events but I could be wrong there.
