Hiya! Where is your version sourced from? Mine and yours cannot sync up. Yours is playing faster than mine it seems.

Rumpus Parable

Oh, also since I’m asking: are you doing the theatrical or full version?

DawnMarieAnderson

Sorry to hear that. My version is the 25th anniversary edition DVD from the UK. The run time is 117 minutes. There was a brief introduction at the start from the director.

Thank you for the info! I'll track that down.... I'm sure it'll be a fun reaction to see. :)

Brilliant reaction, I thoroughly enjoyed it. You were obviously nervous going into this one. The Halloween makeup was superb 😀👍. Due to death threats against Linda Blair from religious zealots who believed the film "glorified Satan", Warner Brothers had bodyguards protecting her for six months after the film's release. Upon its initial theatrical release the film affected many audiences so strongly that at many theatres, paramedics were called to treat people who fainted and others who went into hysterics. When originally released in the UK a number of town councils imposed a complete ban on the showing of the film. This led to the bizarre spectacle of "Exorcist Bus Trips" where enterprising travel companies organised buses to take groups to the nearest town where the film was showing. The Exorcist is based on the novel by William Peter Blatty. Aspects of Blatty's fiction novel were inspired by the 1949 exorcism performed on an anonymous young boy known as "Roland Doe" or "Robbie Mannheim" (pseudonyms). Doe's family became convinced the boy's aggressive behaviour was attributable to demonic possession and called upon the services of several Catholic priests to perform the rite of exorcism. It was one of three exorcisms to have been sanctioned by the Catholic Church in the United States at that time. The film was followed by two sequels, Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977) and The Exorcist III (1990). There was also a 2016 TV series. A prequel movie was released in 2004. Before its release, it went through a number of directorial and script changes, such that two versions were ultimately released. Director Paul Schrader was chosen to make the prequel but upon completion, the studio rejected Schrader's version as being too slow and hired another director to retool the movie. Nine months after the release of the retooled movie (Exorcist: The Beginning), Schrader's original version, retitled Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist was given a small theatrical release. Fans are divided on which version is better.

Haha I remember really really not wanting to see this one! Doing the Halloween movies has made me excited for doing this years ones 😁 Lee is your brain an encyclopaedia ?? You're full of movie knowledge I love it!

I have the same problem. Dawn, your copy or your video goes a lot faster than my HBO Max version. I'll try Amazon... EDIT. Not currently available it seems. Unfortunately my DVD is the directors cut which is 10 minutes longer and shows the Georgetown house even before the titles roll...
