The way Dallas was dress was why all the "Good people" knew she was a sex worker. The reason he was going to shot her was the save her from becoming damage goods and no longer have a normal life even if the saved her.

I cannot believe it. Stagecoach. You picked Stagecoach as your first one. BRILLIANT first choice. I'm blown away. If you end up doing One Eyed Jacks or My Darling Clementine, I'll probably faint, let me not push my luck! I'm getting flashbacks to that great Christmas where you posted a movie a day for the whole month. There are many, many reactors, lots of great ones.......but there is only ONE Dawn Marie! No other channel like it!

You recognize many of the actors because you're right! You've seen them before, especially if you've seen other John Ford movies. In fact, Ford repeatedly used many of these players, so that they have become known as being part of the John Ford Stock Company. As you watch more of his films, it will be fun to see which familiar face is going to be in the next movie. It was a family of actors who were loyal to him.

A few tidbits: That was not Geronimo at the beginning. It was a Cheyenne Indian scout, working for the Cavalry. Also, at the beginning the stage brought in a bank box full of gold to be deposited at Gatewood's bank. But instead of putting it in the safe, he put it in his bag, so he was stealing it. Near the end when they were in Lordsburg, Luke Plummer had a card hand of black aces and eights. This is known as 'Dead Man's Hand' in the old west. It was the hand that Wild Bill Hickok had just before he was shot in the back. Lastly, Thomas Mitchel, who played Doc Boone, won the Academy Award for his role.
