It was a little slow because at it's core, this was a character piece not an action film. Of course the sequels were in many cases themed quite differently. (Eye of the Tiger was from a sequel) 🙂

Stallone wrote it as a love story. The boxing was basically what he did and who he was when he met Adrian.

BUTKUS (the dog) was Stallone's real life dog. Right before Rocky was made, he had to sell him. He used the money he got for the script to buy him back 🐶

Rocky lost at the end, by split decision. (Three judges vote per round). Even then he wasn't aiming to win, but to 'go the distance', basically go the full 15 and still be standing. I hope you watch the other 5. It only gets better :D
