What a wonderful reaction Dawn! This is a classic, possibly timeless classic. I never get tired of a good creator like you reacting to this one. I am turning 60 this year in late summer. In 1969 I moved to the little town in New Jersey where I live now (but across town now). You would probably turn WHITE AS A GHOST if I told you the story of a little walk I took one evening in the spring of '69, along some railroad tracks, at FOUR years old - going on 5. I was actually in my pajamas and I was dragging a wheeled plastic lamb behind me, and I had a teddy bear too. I didn't quite make it out of town (almost!), but I did have to get a ride home from the police. IDK why I was trying to get to some church we passed every day - which I mistook for a school - but when I got older I learned about maps and realized I had been going THE RIGHT WAY and made it about halfway or more. At the time, those tracks had only one train a day and I had just watched it go by before I climbed up to the tracks, so that danger wasn't a factor. Oh... I told the story LOL. Did you turn white? Pretty sure my mom did... :D We can laugh about it now but then... Edit: Also... The best friend I ever had as a kid I met when I was six and he was five. The two of us were thick as thieves, being the boys that boys will be :D even as our other friends came and went through our school days and beyond; and we have remained friends to this day. Of course we don't see each other nearly as much these days, being in different states; but we have stayed in touch through thick and thin all these years. Until recently, he came back to our hometown for several years to be Pastor of the church in our old neighborhood. Now he is retired and moved to be closer to his sons. Today, the majority of my friends are through social media, and that is a VERY different thing. But I enjoy connecting with people all over the world through different interests like music/bands (especially), and things like this too. I do have a few close 'in-my-face' friends still and I am grateful to have them. : )

For scaring her half to death and almost getting her in big trouble, yeah she did of course! Not the last walk I took, but never did anything like that again. :D

Here's some trivia that doesn't really matter but I love. The original story took place in Maine, but it was decided to set the film in Washington or Oregon or something. In any case, there are some references in the dialogue that indicate the Maine origins. Specifically, when the junk yard owner tells Teddy he knows his father, he says he's "that loony up in Togus," he's talking about Togus Veterans Hospital in Augusta. Augusta is significantly north of most of the populated areas of Maine, so the line rings true. Most Mainers would say, "up in Togus" when referring a veteran receiving mental health treatment for PTSD at the veterans hospital.

Also, so you don't have to look it up, Maine is in the north east corner of the country, and the film is set in the north west corner.
