I am so happy it got “best movie ever!” I remember watching this movie with my dad when I was but a lad. You understood and got most of the jokes, and that made me smile. A couple things that stood out to me, and hopefully can make some sense. First, many of the Native people did accept settlers, but if the settlers somehow offended, the tribe wouldn’t kill the offender, because a dead person doesn’t learn the lesson, but they would kill those close to the offender. Then when that Crow could not outrun Jeremiah, he stopped to sing his death song. I hope that clarifies some. I am truly glad you liked this movie, it is one of my all time favorites.
