heyy, here's a panel of Martha and Robin from scene 51~ Robin and Noah will be a bit older now, and Robin got his tattoos!!

I'm making steady progress with the pages 🐾 but tbh I was kind of fighting with myself over this scene (and the next two). Whenever I'm excited about something in the plot I want to put many pages out at once to let the reveals happen faster. Buuut that's just not smart, because I want to keep a buffer, too.

Also, during the years I've worked on the comic I learned that the attention of my readers is an important storytelling... tool? Not sure what to call it, but I figured for myself that it's something to consider and to be aware of when making a webcomic. For Ghost Lights the plot is meant to be read as a series of books (volumes) and that's how the story is structured, and that's how I will work on it. But because I post it online in shorter scenes, I need to work with the attention of my readers, too. I really want to give my readers the best experience I can, even if I can't provide the whole book yet! I want to let you focus on one thing so you can add that puzzle piece to the plot, and that's how it all will make sense over time ☀ (I hope so at least)

For scene 51 I originially wanted to post more pages at once, but then I noticed that the focus would be divided between two important things that will be revealed, and I decided to post and cut the scenes a bit differently than I first planned! I think those things usually go unsaid (adding impactful "cliff hangers" and the balance between reveal / cut so the reader is left wanting more), but often there goes a lot of thought into it, and it's fun to talk about it sometimes!

I'll post scene 51 at the end of the month for patreon and scene 49 for public (wt/tapas) 🖤

It's interesting to hear about the process! As a reader I would never have thought about how certain splits/time gaps can cause details to be lost, and how a writer might have to accommodate for that
