Another day, another evil self - c'est la Samus!

Since I've already drawn many a Samus, this was another case of Sui and I really wanting to try something fancy to make this pic worth it. We workshopped a way to get a spooky doppleganger emerging from the suit, then Sui provided a base composition layout sketch for me to build upon. Throw in some dramatic lighting, and voila! One gooped up Samus at the mercy of... Justin Bailey! 

My initial draft of the pic had Samus in her Zero Suit, then I checked back on the results post and realized that it was her orange tanktop that was presented for the vote, so... 

...So yeah, there's "Zero Suit vs Zero Suit" and "Tanktop vs Leotard". Also, the aspect ratio was a good fit for reusing that old "Mission Results" screen we whipped up all those years ago for Samus' stay in a padded cell. Hm, maybe this piece is actually a prequel to that old one, and we're finally seeing how she was kept out of the way while someone went around causing trouble in her suit? ;) And one final alt, with super harsh shadows 'cuz it looked cool, albeit a little harder to visually take in overall.
