Wow, Well i guess this piece from vice was absolutely full of shit then. the first line in the description says "Noone is allowed to own guns in taiwan" and the narrator herself says it in the first 6 minutes. i had HEARD that vice had gone down the shitter but i didnt want to believe it until now. 3:45 "Civilians are banned from owning guns in taiwan" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LStALMxDtdU&t=368s

I mean, the guy was on trial for quite literally owning a factory made gun. The premise of the entire piece was the possibility that the Taiwanese court could grant an exception for indigenous people to own factory made guns. It’s highly unlikely that their entire story was wrong. More likely that there are extremely prohibitive licensure laws.
