FAME...Film, Art, Music and Entertainment. Comedy is included in the last one. I think Comedy, above all the rest, is the most important, and is the most cutting edge, of ALL forms of communication named above. Music being second. Both music and comedy are interactive. A band interacts with their audience, and even on the radio, people are moved by music. In comedy, the comedian also interacts with their audience. In both, the reaction is immediate. You don't usually see audiences at a movie or in an art gallery, jumping around, and singing or talking along with the movie script or dancing around a painting or sculpture. (Rocky Horror Picture Show, Star Wars, & LOR exempt.) In comedy especially, you hear every word the comedian says, while many people still sing along to their favorite songs, and STILL don't know the lyrics, or have listened to the message in the music. Look at "Sounds Of Silence" by Disturbed...so many people stating that hearing that version was like they heard the song for the FIRST time! NO ONE isn't moved by that song by Disturbed. Comedians in the past, have been arrested for what they have said on stage. Richard Pryor, Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, Kat Williams and in music, Jim Morrison. As I said, comedy is edgier. Many comedians have gotten "scolded" too, for saying something that set off the Snowflakes. Jerry Seinfeld, Kevin Hart, Tracy Morgan and even Eddie Murphy. Comedy is the MOST important of all the entertainment mediums, when it comes to FREE SPEECH. Remember Carlin's Seven Words you can't say on Television??? He and Bruce, were two of the first who challenged what it meant to have free speech, and they pushed the envelope wherever they could. This is also why comedians are the most targeted, followed by musicians, while actors are NOT, because ACTORS SAY OTHER PEOPLES WORDS...
