Confucius is considered China's greatest teacher and his words of wisdom have been quoted throughout the ages. Confucius also said it was the duty of the people to rebel if their leaders lack virtue. Naturally he must be destroyed. That's why the Chinese Communist Party launched an anti-Confucius campaign in the 60's and 70's. But when that didn't work out say well, they tried something different. Namely, subvert his name by creating the Confucius Institute. It's a deal with the devil basically. The Confucius Institute, operating under full support of the Chinese government, offers universities free Mandarin classes and teachers.
