Uber Gets Thrashed by Chinese Competitor—And It's All Illegal
Will Uber be outlawed in China? At the beginning of the year in Beijing, local authorities declared their entire business model illegal. And in April, police raided Uber's office in Guangzhou. Add to that a homegrown Chinese rival, Didi Kuaidi, that's copying Uber's every move, and it looks like while Uber may be trying to China for a ride, it could be China that's taking Uber for one.
