Chris had always wanted to see the Australian outback. So we (Matt & Shelley) arranged for bush guide Jake Cassar to take Chris around. His regular job is giving bush tours, and does volunteer work to help troubled teens. He also told us that the outback means way, way out. This was just the bush, in a national park about 90 minutes north of Sydney.

We were supposed to shoot it in 3 hours. But with all the hiking, and setting up the drone shots, it took 6 hours. Chronologically, the last scene we filmed was the campfire. It was getting so dark at the end that we decided that the ending we'd already shot earlier in the day wouldn't make sense. So we wrote in a part about Chris spending the night, and shot it on 20,000 ISO just as the light was disappearing. Then we put it in and pretended like we totally meant to have it.

We had to walk back to the car for half an hour in total darkness. Fortunately, we had a bush guide :)

Oh, and if you're wondering about Chris eating grubs and a possum, those were 100% real. We all had a bite of the possum, and it was surprisingly good. Tasted a bit like pork.
