About Patreon's New Fee Structure (Patreon)

Patreon has canceled this new fee structure. Hooray!

Patreon's new fee structure benefits China Uncensored—but it comes at your expense. We don't like this change any more than the next creator, but c'est la vie.

Here's how it works: Instead of China Uncensored paying a fee every month, which is subtracted from our final amount—you pay the fee, and it's added to your pledge. This graphic illustrates the change.

So if you currently pledge $5 per episode, with a monthly limit of 10 episodes, you were paying $50 per month before. Now, you'll be paying $5.50 per episode, so a total of $55 per month. The good news is, China Uncensored gets to keep that extra amount.

For $5+ pledges, the effect is small.

But if you're currently pledging $1 per episode, the impact is bigger. Because suddenly your pledge will jump to $1.38 per episode.

We can't change Patreon's new structure. We wish we could. But here's what you can do:

1) Change your pledge to a higher amount, with a lower monthly limit. e.g. Instead of pledging $1 per episode with a limit of 15 episodes per month, change your pledge to $5 per episode with a limit of 3 episodes per month.

2) Support us directly though PayPal or Bitcoin at http://www.chinauncensored.tv/support 

IMPORTANT: If you choose Option 2, you won't get notifications, rewards, special interaction, etc. from us. Patreon handles all that for us, which is why we prefer support through Patreon.
