Noah's Journal, Day 23: Very glad I didn't think God was joking when he suggested I build a big-ass boat.

So here's where we are, folks. I've been with off-and-on power for the last day or so, and the rain is still fucking coming. We're not in any danger of being flooded, but there's a distinct possibility I won't be able to drive much of anywhere for a few days if this keeps up.

I'm working on Brewster's Brood 25, but it's likely to be late tonight or even mid-day tomorrow before it's out. For those of you not on the Discord, shit just got so hectic last week that I pushed it to Tuesday, which has slipped to Wednesday or Thursday, knocking the whole schedule around. That's why I posted Devil's Details 6 on Friday. I'm almost entirely caught up on commissions, though! Friday or Saturday will see the next chapter of Morgana's Gift, as voted on by the upper tier subscribers. It literally came down to 1 single vote, so know how important your voice is.

I also asked if people thought I had too many plates spinning last week, and while most people seemed to think I should just do my own thing and take me where the writing takes me, a handful of people said they would appreciate if we could maybe finish a story or two before adding some new ones into rotation. So I'm going to make a concerted effort to get through the remaining chapters of Mr. Magpie over the next couple of months, since it's the closest to completion, although maybe I could also just shrink down my plans for Janus Coins, since that story hasn't seemed to find a groove or serious fans yet, and try and get to a faster conclusion. I'll have a think about it, but feedback's always welcome.

All of this means that we're getting things ironed out this month and the weather hasn't cooperated, but I'm getting a better handle on it, so we'll see what the rest of our month holds. I'm going to toss up the poll for the month's second You Decide! in the next day or two, and as a thank you for everyone's patience over the month, I'm going to post a second chapter of QTB2 towards the end of the month. I hadn't originally planned on doing two QT2 chapters a month for the next few months, but I feel like you folks have earned this one with all your kindness as I deal with a downpour the likes of which we've not seen here in the Bay Area for a long long time...

Next time I ask for rain, I'm going to be a lot more fucking specific...

Oh yeah, public release schedule. I got that too. Here's what I'm currently planning: 1/14 - Quaranteam: McCallister's Madness 1, 1/21- Quaranteam: Phil's Tale 10, 1/28 - Mr. Magpie 3, 2/4 - Before The Storm 2, 2/11 - Morgana's Gift 12.

I like the premise of JC and don't think you should curtail it.

I enjoy Janus Coins too, and would hate to see it end up shortened. You have a great talent to be able to write soo many different characters/stories concurrently!!!

Old Dragon

I enjoy all of your stries, JC among them. I just have trouble choosing my favorite.

I wonder if you have a month in mind when Thanksgiving, friend visits, travels, Christmas and new years breaks, broken laptops and unending rain ends? When I joined you had a plan, kept pretty close to it and I admired your dependability and productiveness. Then something last fall seems to have happened and each weekly review seems to read the same. I feel for you and wonder if you should take 3 months off completely, recover, cleanup any messed and then start over. I think you would do yourself and your readers a big favor.

Corrupting Power

Actually, I feel like I've mostly gotten things back under control again with a few loose strands running behind, but I made a *lot* of progress over the last week or so, and by the time we hit February, I think I'l lbe back on a fairly reliable and predictable plan. It's been a rough few months, but the fact that I've mostly held to a steady release schedule the entire time has been my saving grace. There's also been the chaos of revisiting all of QTB1, getting it print-ready. But I'm actually feeling pretty good about how I'm coming through everything, so I wouldn't worry about me too much. The weather's been more entertaining than frustrating, really. ;)
