Weekly Update - 1/4/23 (Patreon)

Cutting it close, huh? Well, folks, what a crazy month it's been so far. Hopefully you all had great holidays, but believe me, I seemed to hit nearly every misstep I possibly could.
I headed back to the Midwest, and caught stuck in a hotel for a night since driving the last leg back to the family wasn't possible, since roads were closed. In addition to that, my laptop's battery finally gave up the ghost, and refused to charge, so I could only get writing done when I was at the hip with an electrical outlet. Then when I flew back to California, the airline damaged my suitcase after putting me through a flight that was the worst tumble dry cycle I've ever been through. No lies, I held a vomit bag near my mouth for about an hour, and while I didn't throw up, at least a dozen other people did, and I could smell and hear it, which never let the pressure up from me. I also got stranded in the Seattle airport for about four hours longer than I needed to.
But I'm back to the Bay, so everything should be fine, right?
Right?
What do you mean there's a fucking bomb cyclone hitting our area? Flooding?! Are you fucking serious?
So, it looks like we're in a safe zone, but leaving the house has been an utter challenge for the last day or so, and we've been expecting the power to go out at any moment.
All that said, I'm getting caught up on my backlog, and finished QT2:2, which I just posted. I could've posted it yesterday, but I wasn't at all happy with the back half of it, so I stripped all of it out and rewrote that whole half of the chapter. It's Jade's first time, and I knew the readers were all eager to see that (and a little annoyed that I hadn't delivered it in QTB1! Heh) so I wanted to be sure I was making good on the promise.
I've still got a few more commissions to get caught up on, and am also hoping to have Brewster's Brood 25 for Friday or Saturday. I massively appreciate everyone's patience in waiting for those, especially as I try and push through edits for QTB1 in addition to migrating everything from this old dying Lenovo to my new laptop, which arrived a few days ago. I'll keep hammering at them, and hopefully you shouldn't have too much longer to wait. There's about 18 hours left in the poll to decide what's going to take the 1/10 slot, and right now it's a tie between Morgana's Gift and CARP, so it'll probably be one or the other.
There's also a possibility that I might start another limited run story this month as well, something with eight chapters, the first of which I might put out sometime during the month, but we'll see. Someone over at Literotica complained that I don't finish things, which was hilarious, considering they just got the finales to both Piper's Prelude and If I'm Honest within the last couple of months. I suppose that's a fair open question.
Do you think I've got too many plates spinning up in the air, and would rather I close some stories off before starting new ones up, or do you like having lots of different stories in the air? Because I can push stories towards resolution and conclusion faster if that's what people want, but I tend to let stories go on as long as I feel like they merit. I carved out some as "limited series" early on, so that people would know that there will be a beginning-middle-and-end within a reasonable timeframe. If people want conclusions, I can dial down on finishing existing stories sooner, but I get the feeling many of you would like Morgana's Gift to go on for a good long while, when originally that was intended to be a shorter story. It grew in response to people's enjoyment of it. Anyway, something to think about.
The public started seeing the first of The Devil's Details last weekend, so I'm going to actually push the second chapter of that to public sites this weekend and will start releasing McCallister's Madness to the public next week. So the next month or so looks like: 1/7 - Devil's Details 2, 1/14 - Quaranteam: McCallister's Madness 1, 1/21- Quaranteam: Phil's Tale 10, 1/28 - Mr. Magpie 3, 2/4 - Before The Storm 2.
Anyway, that should just about wrap it up until our next post. Lemme leave you with a little bit of music to liven up your night. If you haven't heard of Rival Sons, man, are they a hell of a band...
