Content

So, as a reminder, starting next week, I'm going to be traveling/working internationally for about 10 days, so the back half of August will be done as best as I can, but everything's going to be a little bit sporadic and haphazard. I'm scheduling things as best as I can, but the release dates are going to be pretty slippery for the rest of the month, as was evidenced by QT49 coming a day late. That said, two of the releases coming during my travels are things that I've written over a month ago, the first part of QT: McCallister's Madness and the start of The Devil's Details

For those asking how Devil's Details will impact our typical release schedule, the plan is to just post a DD chapter at a random point each month, and for it not to take up a content drop window on the schedule. But if I know I'm running particularly late for a content drop, I'll likely post that month's DD chapter there, and just get the content drop delivered when it's finished, 1-3 days late. But I'm going to work very hard not to let it become a crutch.

Speaking of "writing faster," there have been a lot of queries as of late how it's possible to get me putting more content out, and even more regularly. Nobody's going to like my answer for this, but I said I'd always be honest about this, so here it is -- get the Patreon more subscribers and/or subscribe at a higher level.

Once this started taking off, I did reduce the amount of contract work I was taking, but the Patreon is still a good distance from me being able to completely live off of and focus on full time. My current time division is about 70/30 contract/Patreon. I would love to be doing this full time, putting out 3-5 content drops a week, but unfortunately the numbers just aren't there, not yet anyway.

If we continue to grow, I'll probably increase the size of given content drops, although I might be able to squeeze in a third in a given week, once I hit fully supported by this. But we might not, and this might just be the level we stay at, and that's okay too. I know nobody likes to hear that money's an issue, but that's the cold harsh reality of our world. A man's gotta eat.

We will see what happens when the print version Quaranteam: Book One drops, and speaking of, I'm probably also going to make a print version of If I'm Honest around the same time. I'm still figuring out what that would look like. I might also include an additional one-off IIH story in the print version, just to give people an incentive to pick it up, but all those plans are still in the air right now. That'll be eating into my time in September/October as I try and figure things out.

Finally, get comfortable with what you have in terms of QT right now, because QT50, which marks the end of Book One won't drop until 9/16, which is over a month out. It will be a very big chapter, and it does close off Book One (although those of you expecting a close to all the plot threads will be very disappointed - maybe I should be describing it as "Season One" instead and pointing out that we've already been renewed for "Season Two," which will begin in November. I've been sketching out the outline for a while, and I think everyone will be quite happy with it when it hits, but I want to make sure I got it right. The reactions to IIH12 have reassured me that I still know how to land a story, so I want be sure I do that here too.

Here's what the next few weeks looks like: 8/12 - BB 21, 8/16 - QT:PT 10, 8/19 - The Devil's Details 1, 8/23 - QT: McCallister's Madness 1, 8/26 - fan vote (currently Mr. Magpie), 8/28 - Moira's profile for tier 3+, 8/30 BB 22 (+profile).

The actual release dates will be a little wonky, since I'll be submitting things early, but here's the general estimates on when the free versions of my content should be available: 8/13 - Quaranteam: Phil's Tale 7, 8/20 - The Seven Secrets Of Mr. Magpie 2, 8/27 - If I'm Honest 10 (all), 9/3 - QT44, 9/10 - QT 45.
