Weekly Update - 7/20/22 (Patreon)

Okay, so first and foremost, why are you here and not reading the monster that is If I'm Honest - Chapter 11 which just dropped a little bit ago? That "chapter," if I can even call it that, is a true monster, clocking in about 14k words, but it's the penultimate chapter of the IIH story, and so there were lots of pieces that needed to get moved into place, and threads that needed wrapping up before we hit the conclusion with 12. I fully expect that the literal next vote will result in me writing the conclusion, but we'll see. Maybe the tier 4s want to make you all wait. It's their call! But, best guess, I'd wager we'll wrap up IIH in early August.

Coming up on Friday is Quaranteam: Piper's Prelude 4, which is the darkest thing I've probably written, but is absolutely necessary to get to the finale of that side story. Both 4 and 5 are written, and the person who commissioned them is satisfied with them, so I feel like I stuck the landing the way I needed to. But I feel like the caution reminder is important, because everyone's going to get a chance to see exactly what an utter asshole Covington is. It's important information to fill into the story, so keep in mind, you know it ends well for Piper. I even moved the end of four and the start of five around so that four doesn't end on the harshest of notes, which my very first draft (which even the commissioner never saw) did. It was just too bleak. That'll definitely be out midday Friday. Hell, I may even use it to test the "scheduled posting" feature.

Next week, we'll have Quaranteam 48 next Friday (7/29), as well as the accompanying profile of Fiona (as chosen by the tier 3s and above, last month). For the next few months of profiles for QT, there will still be one page profiles available, but they won't be guaranteed to have sex scenes, as chapters 49 and 50 need to wrap up (sort of) the first book of Quaranteam. I currently have QT 49 on the calendar for 8/9 and the finale, QT 50, penciled in for 9/16.  

We'll also have Brewster's Brood 20 (and the accompanying profile) next Tuesday, 7/26, which tier 3s have voted on will include another sex scene with Jenny, as well as an introduction to some of the members of Delta Group. She's definitely making a play to try and put her name in the hat for Wifey Material.

The next month or so is basically set, although the last few weeks in August might get a bit dicey, as trying to set up releases for non-here sites while I'm traveling may be tricky: 7/23 - Quaranteam 42, 7/30 - Quaranteam: Piper's Prelude 2, 8/6 - Quaranteam 43, 8/13 - Quaranteam: Phil's Tale 7, 8/20 - The Seven Secrets Of Mr. Magpie 2.

While I was typing this news update, I talked with some of you and settled this for good - If I'm Honest, Morgana's Gift, The Janus Coins, Mr. Magpie and the upcoming Devil's Details all take place in the same universe. I'd originally sort of intended Quaranteam to be in there too, but there's just too many world altering changes that have happened in QT, so it's off on its own, even though there are still a couple of background names that may pop up cross streams.

One last thing I definitely want to bring up - we're hovering around 280 subscribers right now, and when we hit 300, I'll post the updated visual guide for Quaranteam for all subscribers. It includes a literal shitload of updates in it, because I've been carefully adding to it as I worked, not only on the main QT storyline, but also on Phil's Story, Piper's Prelude and McCallister's Madness. 

This means that document has more than doubled in length, even though I'm still a couple of updates and tweaks behind, in terms of finding the right pictures and fleshing out descriptions a little more. When we can hit 300 subscribers, though, I'll post that for everyone here, and maybe make a pictureless version for nonPatreons several months later. (A pictureless version of that is likely going to be included in the For Sale version of QT:B1 as a cast of characters at the end, so readers can consult to it when needed.) I spent most of my time writing the most recent chapter of If I'm Honest listening to an electronica artist called Timecop1983, who focuses on trying to get the retrosynth sound I grew up hearing everywhere, so here's a taster from that, and I'll see you Friday.
