QT: Piper's Prelude - Part 2 (of 5) dropped for Patrons yesterday and it offers a bit more insight into the actual process of getting the serum. It's also starting to show darkness around the edges, but my free warning is that parts 3 and 4 are going to get bleak. It's worth reminding people that you as readers know that she's going to get through it, so even if it makes your skin crawl and gets you (rightfully) furious with Covington, take comfort in the fact that you know Piper's going to get out of it.

I'm about halfway through writing QT 43 right now, and it's got a little bit of something for everyone, including one of the spicier sex scenes I think I've written in a while. It'll definitely be out on Friday, 5/6. It's also going to end with a bit that should have loads of speculation going on the Discord.

Speaking of the Discord, it seems like a bunch of Patrons have had poor luck connecting their Patreon account to their Discord account, or still want to join the Discord but don't want to link them and I get that. (I actually have two Discord accounts, so believe me, I get that.) If you are a subscriber of any level and you don't have access to the Discord and want it, shoot me a direct message through Patreon and I'll fire back a link for you to use within a day or so. If you aren't a subscriber, however, well, consider signing up?

With a couple of days left in the VIP poll, it's looking like 5/10 will be next part of If I'm Honest (which, if I'm honest, I sort of suspected, what with how the last chapter ended) and 5/13 will be the next part of Brewster's Brood, which marks the first appearance of girls from Charlie Group, so that should be a grand time. I think moving forward, I'm just going to keep attaching the cast list to the end of each PDF posted of BB, so people can refer to the list and see who everyone is, because with the amount of characters in that story, it can get easy to forget who's who.

I feel like 5/17 will be the right place for the next chapter of QT: Phil's Tale and I'll aim for the second BB chapter of the month to fall on 5/24 and the second QT chapter of the month on 5/31. One of the remaining days is another VIPs decide (5/27). That leaves 5/20 as the only currently undecided date for the month that's of my discretion. Mr. Magpie got a pretty good reaction, but I also know people are anxious for more Morgana's Gift. It's a good place to be in, where people want more from lots of stories. We'll figure it out as we move forward.

Also, thanks to everyone for their patience over the last few weeks. After my car was broken into a couple of weeks ago, last Thursday my long serving writing chair broke underneath me, dropping my ass to the floor and scratching into my side deep enough for me to need a handful of stitches. I've known it was starting to show its age for a couple of years, but I'd hoped it would give me more warning than suddenly just giving way. My flatmate heard the crack and snap, and thank God he was home, otherwise I'd have been driving myself to the hospital while bleeding all over my car.

I bought a new writing chair on Sunday, and it was delivered yesterday, and have been writing from it all day today. It's new, it's big, it's comfy and I look forward to many years writing in it to come. I have a desk with a desk chair downstairs I use with my desktop computer, but I tend to do all of my non-work writing on a laptop in a recliner. Different mindset requires different tools.

As per usual, here's the public release schedule for the next month:  5/7 - Morgana's Gift 9, 5/14 - QT: Phil 5, 5/21 - Janus Coins: John's Story 3, 5/28 - Quaranteam 40, 6/3 - Threadbinders 3. The Midas Day chapter should give everyone who's a fan of MG a big boost.

Thursday and Friday will be a little wild for me, as I'm seeing Doctor Strange tomorrow (because OF COURSE I am...) and on Friday, I'm going to see one of my top three bands of all time yet again, at my favorite venue in the whole world.

The venue is The Fillmore (which holds about 1,500 people) in San Francisco, and the band is Biffy Clyro. If you aren't familiar with them, they're a rock band that veers between prog, math and metal. They're from Scotland, and while they're massive in the UK, they still don't have a big audience here, for no reason I can fathom.

(In fact, the second time I saw them live, they were playing a tiny place called The Rickshaw Stop, which holds about 80 people, and I met Simon Neil, the band's singer/guitarist before the show just strolling through the place. I stopped him and got a photo with him and an autograph, and he couldn't have been nicer. Just a month earlier, they'd played Wembly Stadium back in the UK, before a crowd of what I'm guessing had to be over 75,000 people.)

Any time Biffy's in town, I'm there, and have been ever since I first heard this week's song over a decade ago. I've been eagerly awaiting this show since it was announced in January, and me and my friends will be singing along to most of the songs.

All of this means I'm going to have a grand time this week and I hope everyone's having even half a great a time as I will be. If you're in the Bay Area, or even close by, and don't have plans for Friday night, you should get tix to see Biffy. They are one of the best live acts I've ever seen.

Take care, folks. See you Friday!
