I'm most of the way through the next chapter of Brewster's Brood, so I'll try and get that done tonight before I head out to my concert. I'm seeing The Mission UK tonight, and this time actually in San Jose.

I've told this story to a bunch of people, so forgive me if I've told it to you folks as well. I went and saw The Chameleons and The Mission UK up in San Francisco last September at a place called The Chapel, and normally that's a great place to see bands, but it was so blisteringly hot and cramped that I was afraid I was going to pass out, so I ended up watching The Mission UK from the atrium, looking into the place through a big window, rather than directly watching the show, because otherwise I was afraid I'd collapse from heatstroke. I was overheated enough that I really didn't get a chance to enjoy The Mission UK, and I was sort of annoyed as hell about it when I drove home from San Francisco.

Fast forward to January of this year and I get my monthly email from a local San Jose club called The Ritz, and it turns out they've got The Mission UK booked for tonight. So I get a second chance, and that's good, because I feel like The Mission's got to be close to packing it in. Then again, I just got an email notice a few days ago that The Sisters Of Mercy (who haven't put out a new studio recording since 1993) are playing later this year. Thank god I'm starting to feel a little better too.

The last few days, I've been fighting through that seasonal shift that those of you who've been with me a few years know usually hits when spring and summer start fighting and nobody can decide if our lows should be in the 40s or the 70s. It wreaks havoc on my sinuses and I end up feeling like I've got cotton balls shoved behind my eyes. I was also cleaning out my closet starting on Monday, and I think I may have kicked up dust that hasn't moved in a decade. It was a brutal week for my ability to breathe.

It also doesn't help that my flatmate lost his job at the beginning of the month, and it sounds like that's going around a bunch, because a couple of my other friends are worried their jobs are about to go belly up, and those of you who follow the video games industry (or me) can guess some of my former coworkers were caught up in the studio closures that happened earlier this week. I've been playing counsellor for quite a few people as they try and figure out what to do next.

For everything I'm behind on, I apologize. I know I'm underwater and I'm trying to get clawed out as fast as I can, but there's only so fast I can type, and the words don't always come as easily as I'd like.

I hope everyone enjoyed the most recent chapter of Before The Storm, as I was pleased with how it turned out. Anyway, as always, the longer I'm writing here, the less I'm working on actual stories. Tomorrow, I'm hauling a carload or two of shit that was in my closet over to Goodwill, and maybe that'll let the creative juices flow a little bit better without all that damn dust in my room.

Here's what's coming publicly for the next month or so:  5/11 - QTAA 5, 5/18 - QT2:i5, FG3, 5/25 - MG18, 6/1 - QTAA 6, CARP 7, 6/8 - Captains' Days 1, QT2:17, 6/15 - QTPT16, Neon Stonehenge 3.

Make sure you make a list of everything by name and your claimed value before you turn into Goodwill. Thanks for your update. As always, Stay safe.

I know how it feels when the weather can't make up it's mind... it does that here in NC as well.
