Progress update! I'm feeling good about August! (Patreon)

Hey yall! It’s been a bit since I’ve given an update, I just wanna share what to expect for this coming month!

For starters: things are on schedule! Creator Crownie panels should be out tomorrow, expect the Dragon Princess TG sequence to be out by the 31st! The biggest hump of content has been taken care of, and I’m now much more confident that the rest of my usual monthly obligations for the next while should be back on track again! I think I got a funny story idea for the Dragon Princess, I think yall are going to love it!

My mini-restructuring of my schedule has been doing well for me I think, and I’m looking to launch some cool stuff around the start of August. Here’s where I’m at for them:

Next month’s TG sequence theme is gonna be “Clothing-Based 2”! Last year a cat hoodie made a cute catgirl, let’s see what other clothes we can use to make a new girl :D

I’m introducing the new $15-tier for sketch suggestions! Every month I hope to get 3 or 4 patron-suggestion character “sketches” (basically full pinups but monochrome and limited backgrounds, dialogue allowed) as like an easy way to do small commissions and the like! Unlike the Creator Crownie rewards, this tier WILL NOT have a patron limit; I will be picking and drawing my favorite 3-4 suggestions per month (this won’t be a first-come-first-served scenario, don’t worry haha) Will also be putting up a poll to decide on which ones to get fully colored and “finished”! It may need to take some time to iron out the suggestion/voting process and determine how much I’m able to get done, but I’d be really excited to see how it goes!

Now here’s some big news for “Friends on Another Side”: after setbacks and setbacks, I’ve figured out how to begin the comic starting next month! For the time being, FoAS will be in limited monochrome, manga-style. I REALLY wanted to do everything in color right out of the gate, and I plan to get a full color version out EVENTUALLY, but in the name of feasibility and not wanting to keep people waiting to see how the story goes any longer, it will be released in largely black and white-ish with a splash of color here and there for emphasis. My current tentative schedule will be 1 page a week, we’ll also have to wait and see how the rhythm of it goes (will also be an early-release-on-Patreon deal, approx. a month’s worth of comics early before released on other platforms). If I do reach a certain income threshold for this kinda stuff, I would gladly like to expand it to 2 pages a week and get as much out as possible!

Good enough segue as any to announce some long-term milestones I want to set! I’ve been circling around good numbers, but I’ve been really meaning to bump them up so I can afford more time to do more cool stuff! My general estimates for right now exact figures subject to change but these are generally the numbers to reach):

• $1000 per month: I’ll start a new TG animation! I really wanna do more animated, if I got more time for it I’ll get to em in a heartbeat :D
• $1400-1500 per month: Seems like a good range to bump up the release rate for longform comics (expand to 2 pages per week, hopefully).
• $2000+ per month: This seems like the range where I’d be able to work on a longform comic and release pages on a regular basis and in color. In general I think that’d be the area in which I could reasonably say that I’d be making a living off of doing artwork and other stuff, though obviously it’d take a while where I could be comfortable enough that I wouldn’t be worrying about the money, haha. Obviously, this is gonna take a while, but for the sake of transparency of where I aspire to be for my work/life-balance, this is the domain I’d like to be at for when I can consider art more or less a “full-time” thing.

I’m planning on making a bigger image for public viewing to announce all these new goodies, details and goals I wanna reach in the next few days, keep an eye out for that. In addition to that, expect some additional content I’m gonna be releasing in the next while as well!

Without leaving you totally in the dark: I’m planning MORE longform comics after FoAS. heheh
