Here it is! Part two of the Teacher and Student series!

Gwen sat nude in a large nest, made from interwoven branches made of pure silver, jewels strewn about the porous floor. She tended to a clutch of eggs, each a different color, but all gemlike, giving off a faint halo of luminescent gas. Each egg was large enough to fit an adult human curled into a fetal ball, which made the nest feel cramped but cozy. Gwen hugged one, pressing her chest against the warm shell so the occupant could hear her heart beat. She whispered an incantation, helping the nascent creature inside form. The shell shook, signalling the thing inside had pressed against the shell where Gwen was.

She smiled, nuzzling the shell in place of the young inside...
