Are we here already?? The Eclipse?? These next few weekends will be very taxing indeed! Even if we are at an emotional low point in the story, it's a story about hope. So, just keep that in mind. I really feel for the Band of the Hawk here, Corkus verbalizes the heart break perfectly. You feel sorry for the lout! Guts was mentally more prepared for this since he had separated himself from the group and tried to find meaning in his life outside of the group. Even so, he isn't prepared for what is to come. Remember when I said, Gut and Casca retire, buy a farm, raise a mess o' kids........ yeah. I do too. The Casca- Griffith scene when he "falls" on her. She reciprocates with a sympathetic gesture, then decides to stay. I had an argument with a commenter who thought that Griffith was just out of his head and didn't know what he was doing. I said he manipulated Casca into staying with him. Well, it's not that important because it's my opinion, but I just see it as another action of Griffith's that he may or may not be aware of to bend people to his will. If he can't have Guts, he is going to hurt him emotionally, like Guts did to him when he left. I swear he is such a jealous boyfriend type! Casca is such a nurturer; she just can't leave. It's not love that makes her stay, but loyalty. That and a fragile heart. Griffith, I just can't get it out of my head that he knows this and uses it to his advantage weather he knows it or not. Rant over. Loss, unfortunately as you get older, you tend to lose more people around you It's how you cope with the loss and learn to grow from it that is important. I've had plenty of loss in my life, a parent, siblings and a miscarriage. Give yourself time. The pain from losing your precious dogs is fresh. I don't mind you crying reading Berserk. Heck, that's kind of why I read it tbh. It may make you feel better in a strange kind of way. Cathartic.
