What's up? (Patreon)
Content
I've contracted a major case of writer's block. While the guest-written content I am working with is very decent, my rewriting efforts are going exceedingly slow. I am very sorry, but I'm going to have to postpone the update again to about Christmas. This will be the last time this update gets delayed, and to somewhat remotely begin to make up for it, I'm going to share a revelation and maybe some plans for night four at a later date.
Note that everything below this line is considered to be a spoiler.
For those amongst you who have dilligently been reading the character sheets, you've probably noticed some tensions between the human kingdom and the western dragon kingdom. Indeed, Varanar is headed to be at the forefront of a war. Soon-to-be-king Javert wants to abolish the rights of dragons in favour of granting them to kobolds instead.
Whether you realize it or not, you, the player, have already had multiple opportunities to choose a side in this conflict. In the forest, you can choose to side with Saphira or with the Ten Paw Gang. At the hamlet, you can free kobolds. The early half of Varanar, Day Three has the cyan kobold and Rolande. You can side with neither, either or both. Then during Afternoon Three, there is the choice between Ruby or Red, Green and Blue.
Night Three can be pro- or anti-kobold. During the morning four marketplace, you can save some more lizards and/or you can encounter Emeraude. In the church, you choose to engage in the blatantly anti-kobold dragon god worshipping ritual, or to look away. At the end of the scene, you can potentially get rescued by a dragon or by one of three kobolds.
As you can see: you may have unknowingly already developed a tendency as to what side you'll end up supporting in this brewing conflict. The final decision, of course, is up to you. Is fighting for your rights really the right course of action, knowing that countless others will suffer as a result? Or are the dragons right to maintain the status quo? Once I clear this writer's block, we'll both find out together. Good night. See you in a few days.
