The slaver stand, which is a part of Varanar, Morning Four, won the previous poll. This will be a mostly non-sexual segment, wherein Moe takes a peculiar interest in a slaver and his wares, set up at the marketplace. The question is: how many kobolds will you be able to set free? Or will you yourself fall victim to the thriving indebted servitude industry? You'll be able to find out, in just a day or seven.

This segment is planned to include the first ever minigame of Kobold Adventure: lockpicking. This minigame was implemented ages ago, during a programming week, but due to lack of proper assets, it was never really put into the game. You can see the current, temporary assets in use in the gallery.

We've waiting long enough. It's time to put the locking into action. I'll most likely be getting some nice and neat artwork for it, along with finetuning some of the difficulty parameters, and maybe making it a teensy bit more intuitive. Whatever the case, it will be ready for your enjoyment soon enough!

However, I don't know if I'll be able to cram the minigame into this update. I haven't properly left the designing phase yet, and I'm only a week away from wanting to start working on the character sheet. As such, here is the planning for the coming seven days:

  • 1) Finish planning. I hope to have this done tomorrow.
  • 2) Initial scaffolding. The basics to make the scene work. One day is allotted for this.
  • 3) Combined programming and writing. I won't be scaffolding everything yet; just writing code in tandem as I write the storyline. Make what I need, and leave the rest to wait until after the character sheet.
  • 4) Cram as much content in as I possibly can.

Now, you might be wondering why I haven't left the design phase of the update yet. Well, to be honest, creativity didn't really strike me until yesterday, right before bed, when I had a pretty darn decent idea on how to handle the slaver segment, on top of the overly basic concept I had in mind from the start.

I hammered out some details today, and I'll work out the rest tomorrow. Then, development will start properly, and I'll spend four to five days programming and writing away, before wrapping things up and showing you guys what I made. It probably won't be the entire slaver scene yet, but I hope to knock a good decent bit out of the park. After the character sheet, I'll finish this segment, and then we can move on to the next.

Shirts for this month will be sent later this week, or early next week, depending on whether or not I get a reply from the single patron which has not yet told me what size shirt he wants.   Rystrygar, if you're reading this, please let me know something. If I don't hear anything in the next couple of days, I'll be sending you a large and hoping it fits.

Anyway, that's about everything I have to say, for now. I'm thinking of doing a patron checkup thingy somewhere in the near future, but that remains to be seen. Thank you all for your continued interest in Kobold Adventure, and I'll see you next time, on the Dickskoboldy Channel.
