I don't even remember drawing this one!  I was just idly wondering if there were any unused strips from the past month or so and this thing was sitting there.  

Remember when Sarah shoved Joe out into the hallway and slammed the door on him while he and Joyce were sorting through Joyce's bins?  Well, this is Joe talking to Rachel while he's out there waiting.  I guess I thought this interrupted the flow of the story?  I dunno.  Again, I don't remember it.

I get why people are skeptical of Joe’s intentions but I think he’s more honoring her agency than any of them by respecting the fact that she’s a full person who’s allowed to want things and act on those wants. Everybody is like “oh she’s a precious little baby naïf who needs to be handled with kid gloves” and as much as she is naive and immature in several ways, she’s still a person and that impulse to infantalize her is arguably damaging and objectifying in its own right.

I like Rachel, she obviously has some regret weighing on her. I'm torn between wanting to know more and appreciating that it's not just the main cast going through things. The unknown issues of other people that are no less complicated.
