David Willis

but how do the books stay on the shelf when you pull it down to become the bed is the question

Machalt

Answering the "lesbian lovers or platonic roommates" question requires more context regarding the subject of the Lego set, but the answer is either solidly the former, or you can find fanfic that adjusts it to be the former.

This strip IS fanfic for a real Lego set (per Willis' Twitter and Tumblr), and there's no adjustment necessary.

Hmm, the set is called Liann's Room, so it's probably just her room, and I feel like it's just a bedroom, not a dorm, as from my understanding the characters are supposed to be teenagers, so probably not in college (I know, most people are technically still a teen when they go to college, but at that point they are generally referred to as young adults). Which isn't to say they aren't lesbians and girlfriends, but they are probably not sharing a dorm at this time.

However TF this guy did it: https://bookstr.com/article/70k-books-found-in-hidden-library-in-this-germany-home/

Pull-down bed that's behind a bookshelf actually does work. A buddy of mine in Austin had exactly that setup in his guest room. The bookshelf split in the middle like a pair of sliding doors, revealing the pull-down bed. I've slept in it.

Here is the set in question: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/liann-s-room-41739

So no one told you the editor was this gay

...so, Daisy is basically asking the staff to write fanfic?

Well in that case, I think you know the answer, Daisy

Elizabeth Story

i think the winner of the poll was Shortpacked!

There's so much bleed here, it's making me dizzy!

And now I'd like a strip that shows, that Daisy is actually good at her job.

Are bookshelves in dorms that strange a concept in the USA? I had multiple bookshelves in my first-year dorm room here in the UK: the university expected you to study, after all, and they expected you to use books to do that!

Well, the run of strips comprising Daisy's most recent appearances in the main comic (starting here: https://www.dumbingofage.com/2021/comic/book-12/01-sister-christian/advance/) depict her as being capable of giving good advice (not to mention steering others into making your editorial decisions for you). Just try to ignore that middle strip where Daisy somehow intuits that Walky's stained shirt was licked by a woman and briefly becomes the ol' Daisy we know and love.

Daisy's really proud of that Amazi-Girl issue. It's been up on the wall for months, which is sorta unusual for a daily newspaper.

I love the "wait, we're majoring in journalism for THIS?" expressions on the non-Jennifer staff members.

It's a kind of dorm room, as this is part of a group of linked sets about a friend group at an international school. But you're right, it is a single room. Doesn't mean Autumn can't sneak over, of course, and as Willis points out, these two are UNCANNILY near-doppelgangers for our favorite DoA couple, except for Autumn's arm. Liann's drawing of Autumn in the background even has her wearing a very Becky-esque knit hat.
