Jocelyne is wonderful and valid and I can't wait for her to get to be herself full time 💜💜💜

Anonymous

there is way too much cholesterol in broccoli, Hank, what are you doing

Anonymous

You know what would be interesting? If Hank already knows, or at least suspects, about Jocelyne being trans. IIRC, her writings are under her chosen name, so he might have worked it out. And he probably doesn't fully understand why his "son" would be this way, but he still loves her. (I know it's not particularly likely. But hey, that's what head canons are for.)

Jocelyn is the best. Along with Lucy and Carla. Oh, and also Dina... Might as well add Becky in there too.

Anonymous

Oh and Leslie. I can't believe I left Leslie so far down the list.

Unexpected comments on the tiny little changes you've dared to make in your life are just the 'BEST', aren't they >n>

Anonymous

Some of us get mad when people don't notice the changes we've made, though. If there's a simple rule here, I don't know it.

Anonymous

Three nitpickers arguing what _kind_ of greens it is and not one of them noticing the disparity between the complaint and the actual not very high content of cholesterol in bollocking vegetables. Sigh.

Anonymous

Yeah, but it’s definitely loaded here because it’s tied up in Jocelyne being trans and Hank not knowing, not being someone who would’ve been supportive when she was growing up, and still being an unknown now. (And Jocelyne may not know about all Hank’s character development, we don’t know how often she and Joyce talk.) So she probably is in fact on edge here.

Anonymous

Not sure I understand your intent tbh, his complaint is exactly why he has to snack on a celery stick and not, I dunno, a donut or something.

Anonymous

All of my headcannons are ones where trans folx are more supported than we can expect to be

Yay father/ daughter bonding! Just give Hank time, he’ll probably figure out what’s up on his own, he might even be helpful about it by then.

Bagge

Heh, I remember when my dad took me aside for the talk... about thinning hair. It was very heartwarming.

Dean Reilly

Baldness comes from the father's side. Hank, you sit on a throne of LIES.

David H. Adler

I just want to point out that, if I'm any indication, the idea that male pattern baldness is determined by your maternal line is GARBAGE.

Jamieson

Determined by, no. But she has a 50/50 shot at getting her mom's hair genes over her dad's.

Anonymous

Two counter-arguments: 1. the genes largely responsible for baldness are on the X chromosome, and you only get one of those from your dad if you're a girl. 2. My balding head.

Anonymous

Highly unlikely but I'd prefer it to be that way. Maybe perhaps the discovery Hank had a sibling who was that was never mentioned but he never disliked (i.e. Hank is Joyce as an adult).

Taellosse

The most common gene responsible for male pattern baldness is recessive but found on the X chromosome, which is why far more men lose their hair than women. But it also means that most balding men inherited the trait from their mother, because that's who all men get their X chromosome from.
